MEET KAREN

What a blessing it is in life to have the opportunity to do what you love and enjoy. Whether it’s planning a quinceanera to celebrate a young lady maturing into a woman, a shower to welcome a new life entering into the world, or a wedding to rejoice in the love between man and woman, Karen takes each important event and transforms it into a memorable festivity. She does this by taking the time to get to know her clients on a personal level to figure out their likes and dislikes, their style and help make their dreams (aka Pinterest board) come to life.

Growing up in a large Hispanic family exposed Karen to many different types of events throughout her life.  There was always a birthday party, holiday party, or just a summer’s night cookout that Karen was helping to plan.  Planning included deciding on food to serve, organizing the house, and making the home warm and inviting by lighting candles to get the house ready for guests. All this was done without even realizing that she was cultivating her love in ensuring that everyone that attended that party had a good time and left with happy memories.

Karen was born and raised in Wichita Falls, Texas. She is thankful to have been raised in a God fearing home and plans to raise her family with husband, Degorian, with those same values. Traveling with her husband, trying new restaurants, enjoying amazing desserts and shopping are among some of Karen’s favorite things.

After planning her wedding and having so many vendors and guests ask “who planned your wedding” or comment on how it was “the best wedding that they had ever attended”, it really caused Karen to reflect on how event planning was something she would enjoy doing for a living. Her own wedding was proof that she could successfully plan and implement ideas for a large occasion, while having a blast doing it. The question was would she have the same passion and detail for another bride’s wedding as she did for her own…and the answer is YES!

The truth is Karen realized that she loves to be a part of making YOU feel like the most important person in the world. Because of this, she is ready to devote her time and energy into making your vision for your momentous celebration come to full fruition.

At your initial meeting, you and I will work to determine how far along you are in the wedding planning process and what you truly want for your “big day”. We will discuss your vision, planning and coordination needs, as well as your budget requirements.

Booking Process

Step 1: SELECT A DATE

Contact Karen by email at karen@castlevents.com or by phone at 940-337-9353

Step 2: CONSULTATION

First face-to-face meeting or phone meeting, whichever is most convenient for the client. This will give us the opportunity to get to know one another and go over your vision for your event. At this time, there are no contracts or deposits required. Castle Events will hold the date of your event for up to 10 days from this initial meeting

Step 3: BOOKING

Second face-to-face or phone meeting, whichever is most convenient for the client. At this time, the contract will be signed, the client will discuss budget, event theme, etc, and the remit the deposit. The details of your event will begin to be decided. 

Step 4: DETAILS

A memorable event is ALL IN THE DETAILS. At this time, you will have received up to 3 package/price quotes, you will then decide on the package that meets your needs. We will begin to personalize each detail of your event from timeline creation, event theme, and include any additional cultural or personal preferences at the time. Vendor selections, venue, and final decisions will be made during this final step leading up to the day of your event. 

Step 5: EVENT MONTH

We will be in constant contact to ensure we have everything set in place for a flawless and unforgettable event for you and your guests.

Century Tents and Events had the opportunity to be the contractor for Castle Events on the 2016 United Regional Hospital Gala. First off let me say if your thinking about hiring Karen as a wedding planner/coordinator don't think anymore and BOOK her NOW!  She will not disappoint. We hired Karen as our day of coordinator for our wedding. Although we only hired her for the day, months leading up to the wedding she was there every step of the way. If I had questions, needed advice, or just an ear to listen . She was there without any hesitation. She is very organized and on top of everything. She has an eye for style and perfection at its finest. Since we just hired her for coordination only, I was surprised she came to our rehearsal dinner. She went over everything with us and our wedding party, as well as the walk through with music.  On the day of the wedding she was there to assist with anything needed. We got married outside on a golf course in July. Our ceremony was to be held on the 18th hole. The forecast showed for a beautiful day, but God's plan is always bigger and better than we could ever imagine. Two hours before our ceremony began, a few storms blew in and of course as a bride I was panicking. The day I dreamed of my whole life was not going to be ruined by rain. During the rain delay Karen was consulting with my fiancé and I trying to decide what our options were with the weather. We were determined to get married outside. So we decided we would just wait the rain out. As hectic as everything was I couldn't imagine this day without Karen. She kept everything running smoothly and never skipped a beat. Even with the chaos, everything went as planned and couldn't have been any more smooth. Our guest made comments about how well everything turned out. Karen was our wedding planner for our daughter's wedding in November of last year and I could not have done this without her.
